The Knights of Columbus is the world's largest Catholic fraternal service organization engaged in charity. Founded by Father Michael J. McGivney in New Haven, Connecticut, in 1882, it was named in honor of the mariner Christopher Columbus.  The Knights of Columbus has grown from several members in one council to more than 14,000 councils and 1.8 million members’ throughout the United States

The St. Andrew by the Sea, Knights of Columbus Padre Balli Council #10677, was chartered in July of 1991 as the Charles J. Kaler Jr. Council in Flour Bluff.  It was reorganized in July of 2006 on Padre Island for the purpose of supporting the St. Andrew by the Sea Parish.  The name was changed to Padre Balli Council in 2015.

The Padre Balli Council #10677 sponsors fund raising activities such as the annual golf tournament and 6 Lenten fish frys. The funds raised via these activities go to the Council's charitable works. These works include support of St. Andrew Parish, The Ark Assessment Center, Holy Spirit Adoration Sisters, Retired Priests Pension Fund, Christmas gifts to Retired Priests and Bishops, KLUX Catholic Radio, Ecuador Mission, Hope House, Flour Bluff School Lunch Program, KAIROS Ecumenical Prison Ministry, Diocese of Corpus Christi Prison Ministry, support of 2 Seminarians, Special Olympics and cook for and donate to the annual Billish Park Easter Egg Hunt.  The Council provides bibles for all First Holy Communicants and the newly confirmed.  We sponsor a table at the annual Clergy appreciation dinner and provide the parish with Domestic Church pamphlets and religious DVDs. We provide ushers and greeters for all three parish masses, ground maintenance for the parish rectory and provide refreshments monthly for “Donut Sunday” fellowship.  We sponsor masses for Vocations and Pro Life and pray monthly rosaries for both Pro Life and all requested intentions.  The KofC prayer intention book is located in the foyer next to the parish office.

Catholic men, we invite you to be a part of our island Catholic family.  Membership is open to men 18 or older who are practicing Catholics and who accept the teaching authority of the Catholic Church on matters of faith and morals and aspire to live in accord with the precepts of the Catholic Church.  Contact Membership Director, John Velez at 361-877-6923 or  for more information.
